Overview
Parlant Agents pre-installs a browser so Hermes can open pages, follow links, read web content, and interact with supported sites through its tools. The browser runs on the always-on agent server, not on your laptop.
This makes source-backed research, information gathering, and repeatable web workflows available without installing a browser or automation stack yourself.
Good first tasks
Start with bounded, reviewable work:
- compare information from a short list of sources;
- collect links and quotations for a research brief;
- inspect public documentation and summarize relevant sections; or
- test a web workflow without submitting its final action.
Ask Hermes to cite URLs and separate evidence from conclusions. See Use case: a verifiable research brief for a complete workflow.
Keep consequential actions controlled
A browser can reach external services, but access still depends on site behavior, authentication, and the tools enabled in Hermes. Do not assume Hermes can see an account you have not connected. Keep purchases, publication, account changes, and messages behind explicit approval, and avoid entering secrets into untrusted pages.
