Overview
Parlant Agents provides a complete Hermes installation rather than a reduced chat interface. You can use Hermes configuration, tools, plugins, memory, skills, scheduled tasks, and messaging channels supported by the installed release.
Parlant manages the server around Hermes but does not lock its application settings. You decide which capabilities to enable and which external services to connect.
Two dashboards, two jobs
Use the Parlant Agents dashboard for infrastructure concerns: service status, credentials, managed model credit, backups, upgrades, restart, and subscription management.
Use the Hermes dashboard and WebUI for agent concerns: model selection, provider keys, tools, plugins, memory, skills, and messaging configuration.
You can choose managed OpenRouter credit during setup or bring your own supported provider key. See Model access, credits, and billing before connecting a provider.
Configure deliberately
Enable one integration at a time and test it with a low-risk task. External model, messaging, and tool providers receive the data required for requests sent to them. Give each integration the least access it needs, never store secrets in agent memory, and keep consequential actions behind explicit approval.
